The Contracting Parties to the Convention are also invited to produce, on a voluntary basis, thematic reports on the subjects which must be considered in depth during the Conferences of the Parties.

In the case of the sixth meeting (COP-6), the themes relating to alien species, forest ecosystems, as well as access to resources and equitable sharing of benefits were requested. It is in this context that these documents have been produced.
