The Comoros have a rich and varied fauna. Terrestrial fauna has been particularly studied. We can cite the work on "The terrestrial fauna of the Comoros" produced by the Royal Museum of Central Africa of Tervuren in Belgium under the direction of Professor Michel Louette. To the credit of the latter, an Atlas on the birds of the Comoros is under construction. It should be released early next year.
